Favorite Memories

Studying abroad at the University of Auckland has been a transformative journey filled with unforgettable experiences, new friendships, and personal growth. As I reflect on my time in Auckland, I am reminded of the countless memories that have shaped my study abroad adventure.

Some of my favorite memories include traveling to Great Barrier Island with my roommate and friend from UH. We hiked to the top of Hirakimata (Mt. Hobson) but unfortunately didn’t get a view. I also tried an AUTHENTIC sausage sizzle which was way better than the first one I had initially. One of my favorite places to go in Auckland was to take the ferry across the bay to Devonport. I loved hiking Northhead and enjoying the peaceful beaches. Finally, I have to mention the sheep. I got to see so many sheep during my time abroad!

Perhaps the most cherished aspect of my study abroad journey has been the friendships forged along the way. From fellow international students to Kiwi locals, I have been fortunate to connect with so many people who have enriched my life in ways I never imagined. Whether sharing late-night study sessions, exploring the city's culinary delights, or embarking on spontaneous adventures, these friendships have been a source of laughter, support, and camaraderie throughout my time at the University of Auckland.

As I bid farewell to Auckland and embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, I am filled with gratitude for the countless memories and experiences that have shaped my study abroad adventure. As I carry these memories with me, I am reminded that the greatest adventures often begin with a single step into the unknown.
